Ashbaugh & Associates has an opportunity to bid on an Illinois government agency contract. AAI is seeking resumes and desired hourly rate of pay from JAVA developers who are available and interested in working in the Springfield, Illinois area. The project will include 14 (fourteen) JAVA Developers for approximately 1,360 hours per Developer totaling 19,040 hours of service; the project will begin at contract signing and continue to 12/31/2019.
All positions will be contractual - 1099.
100% of the work will be done in Springfield, Illinois -- there is no remote work allowed.
The 14 Developers will work with agency staff to re-write a current management system that was developed using Adobe Flex to build its front-end screens, which run using Adobe Flash Player. In August 2018 Adobe announced that the Flash Player was going to be at end-of-life “in 2020”. The Microsoft Website states that “in mid to late 2019, we will disable Flash by default... Users will be able to re-enable... on a browser-by browser basis. By the end of 2020, we will remove the ability to run Adobe Flash…on all Microsoft platforms”.
The agency requires assistance re-writing the system's front-end screens, which are now reliant on Adobe Flash Player to employ industry standard Web technologies (HTML5, Websphere, Ibatis, etc).
There is a common top banner and the top navigation panel which switches between the 9 major screen groups. Each major screen group has a left-navigation panel for switching between one and 19 “screens” in that group. Most “screens” will be developed into several new panels. The 47 existing “screens” range from simple, to complex, to very complex. It is expected that these 47 screens will develop into around 118 new panels. Front-end and back-end validations will need to be reused from the existing panels or redeveloped, as will queries for inquiry, searches, lists, updates, etc.
A resume for each developer included in the bid is required. The resume must clearly demonstrate that the developer meets the experience requirements outlined below. If selected for the contract, each developer must pass a standard background check.
Each resume for consideration must demonstrate at least 3 out of the last 5 years’ experience in each of the following: WebSphere, IBM Rational Application Developer, Java, IBM DB2, Clear Case, and Clear Quest.
The developer must be a U.S. citizen or hold a visa allowing work for any employer without sponsorship. AAI does not sponsor any type of work or student visa.
