Iron Worker

Iron Worker will work as part of a team constructing iron/steel structures to specifications. Will perform rigging, connecting, bolting, and welding procedures while working well within a team-centered culture.


  • Interpret blueprints to identify weld symbols
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
  • Repair components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Assure all work is installed in accordance with the current contract documents
  • Comply with contractor/client safety requirements to the fullest
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations
  • Talking, hearing, writing, reading, typing, computer, telephone, 2‐way radio, standing, walking, sitting, bending, using hands and fingers, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling for up to 12 hours per day
  • Climbing stairs (temporary or other), climbing ladders, navigating work areas under construction, working in high elevations


  • Proven 5+ years of experience as an Iron Worker working in Commercial Construction.
  • Preferably in the structural/ornamental metals field
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures flux-core, MIG weld) 6010 7018
  • Experience using electrical or manual tools (grinder, squares, tape measure, hand tools)
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, etc.)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of five years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
  • OSHA 10, first aid, CPR training, fall protection, aerial lift, forklift, and scissor lift as well as a proven track record of implementing a strong culture of safety on the job site
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time at a minimum

$20-$28 hourly
