Farmers Insurance of Middle Tennessee

Account Executive

  • This is a full-time - Insurance Product Sales Position.
  • Requires appointment for both Property & Casualty insurance from the state of Tennessee prior to start date.
  • Must become appointed for both Life and Accident/Health insurance from the state of Tennessee within (60) days of hire.
  • Submit to and pass a background check from Farmers Insurance.
  • Become appointed by Farmers Insurance prior to start date.

Productive and engaged team members that go the extra step to serve their clients, as well as the company, will be rewarded. There are quarterly and annual bonus programs available to all licensed producers on the team.


Base Salary – Full Time Exempt Employee:

  • $20,000 – Annually
  • Standard Commission and Bonus Opportunities range from an additional $20,000 to $40,000 Annually(see below)
  • Commissions are shared between the Employee and the Agency. Commission are calculated as a percentage of the total commission received by the agency for each policy sold and delivered. Commission to the Agency is based on the published commission schedules of the issuing insurance company (i.e. Farmers, Bristol, West, Kraft Lake, etc.)


  • Off-site sales for appointed lines of insurance
  • Manage/participate in Community Marketing events

Primary source of new business leads:

  • Self-generated by the employee
  • Agency sponsored daily leads and data generated prospects

Secondary lead sources – company provided:

  • Effectively and diligently respond to any agency provided leads

Performance Standards:

First 90 Days:

  • Prior to start date create a “Top 100” prospect list
  • Generate (40) Property Casualty Insurance policies from this list
  • Cross-Sell (1) Life Insurance policies from this list

Weekly Production Goals (Minimum):

  • (25) quotes
  • Any combination of appointed lines of insurance
  • Phone or in-person
  • (1) of these quotes should be for Life Insurance
  • (10) “New Business” appointments – In Person

Monthly Production goal (Minimum):

  • Generate $1,500 in “New Business” premiums
  • Schedule a minimum of 10 ‘New Business’ appointments/calls a week

Personal Lines:

  • New Business: Home, Auto, Umbrella: 40%
  • New Business: Bristol West, Foremost: 40%
  • Renewal Bonus Available Upon Meeting Set Goals

Life Insurance:

  • New Business: 80%
  • Renewal Bonus Available Upon Meeting Set Goals

Commercial Lines:

  • New Business: 50%
  • Renewal Bonus Available Upon Meeting Set Goals


  • Sales and Customer Service Experience (Insurance Preferred)
  • Successful track record of meeting sales goals/quotas (Preferred)
  • Current licenses for life, health, property, and casualty
  • Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and listening
  • Possess an upbeat, positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Be a great self-starter with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency to multi-task, follow-thru and follow-up.
  • Ability to tactfully handle stressful and difficult situations.

$40,000 - $60,000 yearly
