We are looking for a human resource professional to join our team who is goal-oriented, energetic, loyal, hardworking, self-directed, and motivated with a commitment to maintaining our high-quality standards! This position will be working directly with department managers in a wide range of projects related to HR compliance and procedures within the construction waste hauling industry. Efforts include recruiting, pre-screening, scheduling, internal communication, handling employee files, conducting internal payroll audits, event planning, managing time cards, etc. A successful candidate in this position is driven, has the know-how to lead people, is analytical, teachable, and enjoys researching information to enable company growth. Responsibilities

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
  • Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Creates employee engagement plans, getting necessary budget approval, and initiating activities
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments - this may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
  • Creating a recruitment plan and calendar according to operation and sales projections
  • Generating official internal documents such as offer letters and attendance reports
  • Conducts onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
  • Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits, and attendance records
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions
  • Manages internal document compliance and audits
  • Serves as a point of contact for all employee-related policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field (Human Resources, I-O Psychology, Organizational Science, etc.)
  • Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools, and payroll and human resources software
  • Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking
  • Leadership and coaching skills
  • Strong empathy and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and analytically driven
  • SHRM-CP certification is a plus

Compensation
$50,000 - $65,000
