We’re hiring a highly-organized and people-oriented human resources manager to ensure our business runs smoothly. You will be consulted by top management on strategic planning and business administration, oversee employee relations, and maximize our sustainability and profitability.   • Provide human resources leadership to site and ensure talent development in support of overall plant and corporate HR talent excellence
  • Administers local hourly wage and benefit programs, including annual wage survey
  • Ensures that all phases of corporate and legal compliance reporting mechanisms (i.e. Affirmative Action Plan, corporate policy requirements, ADA, FMLA) strictly adhered to and completed in timely and complete manner
  • Leads local salaried compensation process for annual merit and performance incentive programs
  • Initiates instructs and oversees the yearly development of key job elements for facility’s salaried group as well as annual performance evaluation process
  • Lead and manage vendor relationships
  • Lead local Positive Employee Relations strategy
  • Drive HR excellence through engagement, continuous improvement and accountability
  • Lead hourly manpower planning and full-time recruitment activities
  • Partner with corporate Government Affairs and site manager on community relations and support of corporate and local charitable contributions
  • Works closely with corporate HR in support of overall succession and development planning process
  • Assess overall training needs of plant and generate creative and effective training solutions with the help of corporate and external resources
  • Deal with any and all employee-related performance issues
  • Partner with local leadership to ensure a safety-first mentality of all employees
  • Facilitate employee communications correspondence and postings
  • Lead all site accident investigations
  • Coordinate site safety audit program and maintain all site safety metrics
  • Coordinate on strategic safety implementations with the Regional Safety Manager
  • Other duties as necessary to support business needs


  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Human Resource experience
  • Experience working in manufacturing facility
  • Excellent technical skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft and general technical acumen)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with little direction
  • Self-starter who is not afraid to lead and take risks
  • Advanced degree (Masters – Industrial Relations/HR preferred)
  • Experience working in and with unionized environments
  • Understand lean manufacturing concepts and implantation

Physical Demands of the Job:

  • Work is mostly performed in a normal office setting with substantial time spent working on a computer. Requires sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to factory floor which requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and other PPE where deemed necessary
  • Position requires regularly standing, sitting, walking, reaching, talking, hearing and speaking
  • Frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds
  • Exercise sound judgment in reacting to problems
  • May be required to travel up to 10%
