At Walnut Grill, the role of a Host/Hostess is critical to our success. To perform your duties successfully, efficiency is paramount. You will be responsible for warmly welcoming guests and escorting them to their seats, while also managing the Open Table system. Monitoring restaurant activity is essential to determine seating arrangements and ensure the dining experience flows smoothly. Responding to guest inquiries and requests promptly, warmly, and efficiently is vital to providing exceptional customer service.

Must live within commuting of the restaurant and be authorized to work in the US.

• Must be able to assist guests and possess great guest relations skills.
• Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand/walk and stay focused and alert for extended periods of time.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone.
• Professionally answer phone taking reservations and/or messages.
• Experience using Open Table, or a similar restaurant-reservation seating system is a plus but not required.
• Pleasant, friendly demeanor.
• Engaging in friendly conversation as you seat guests in a timely fashion.
• Maintaining a clean and organized front desk.
• Basic housekeeping skills including wiping down counters, dusting, windows, etc.
