The STNA is a member of the medical staff team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs in a facility or home care setting.

Hospice is a form of medical care in which the focus is on palliative or comfort care for people who are terminally ill. Hospice care is typically provided for a patient in their own home with the assistance of family members but can also be administered in a hospice facility. As a STNA working in hospice you will have the option to provide a variety of services to hospice patients and their families.

Sign-on bonus eligibility:

  • Must work 128 hours (32hours/week for 4 weeks)
  • MUST be hired between 10-1-20 and 12-1-20

  • Provide client care according to approved Plan of Care.
  • Supervising patients when taking medication.
  • Assist in providing a safe environment for clients.
  • Comply with all documentation and record-keeping requirements.
  • Respite care services to help the family cope with both emotional and physical caregiving needs.
  • Keeping the patient’s room clean and sterile and assisting with physical needs such as moving from a bed to a wheelchair.
  • Consulting on a regular basis with the supervising nurse in terms of keeping hospice team members apprised of a patient’s progression and needs.
  • Paying close attention to the comfort level of the patient and ensuring the nurse is aware of any changes so they can provide medication.
  • Personal care including changing bedding, clothing, bathing hospice patients, and helping with hygienic routines such as brushing teeth, washing hair, and keeping wounds and dressings cleaned.


  • Ohio STNA certification in good standing
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Current CPR certification
  • Recent negative TB test or chest x-ray
  • Recent negative COVID test results

$14 - $15 hourly
