We are looking for THE BEST Construction Field Assistant who will take charge every day like it’s the most important day of their life. We need a Construction & Maintenance Field Assistant / Handyman who is a detailed-oriented, result-driven overachiever and can prove it! Come help us build an empire within the Real Estate Investment world working with our incredibly knowledgeable Rehab manager. Our company buys 20+ homes every month and rehabs, rents or flips 1/2 of those! Our company is growing quickly and our Construction Division is looking for an experienced construction field assistant to help be the driver of this division's success.

**We are looking for someone that has 3 years of experience in general handyman or construction work as we need you to be able to work on anything thrown your way.**

We need a stable, honest, and genuine individual that is smart, tenacious, and always does the right thing. We seek someone who will make sound decisions based on the needs of and care for the business. Someone who wants to make things right the first time, not because it is expected from them and is in their job responsibilities, but because it is who they are as a person. How you do anything is how you do everything. We do not believe in cutting corners to save a buck here. Our reputation comes first. You have to be persistent with everything you do. If you are assigned a task, of any variety, it is 100% your job to stay on it through to completion and navigate any problems along the way.

You will be a key member of our team responsible for repairs and improvements on our properties. You will need to be able to take and implement direction and guidance from our Rehab Manager, who will be there to set your schedule and make sure everything runs smoothly. He is very considerate and helpful, but you need to be a quick and reliable learner because he does not have the luxury of extra time to repeat himself! 

This is a very fast-paced environment and you will be required to track your own assignments and tasks and communicate once completed. We have people doing most of our rehab jobs, but often we need more hands to take care of the details. Exemplifying our core values, you will show respect and courtesy to all contractors and employees. 

The Base Salary is $45,000 - $55,000 yearly with huge bonus potential for dedication and hard work. PLEASE be sure to include a COVER LETTER or your application will NOT be reviewed! Here’s some real honesty for you: this is a two-way street - if you aren’t willing to take 7 minutes to type up an informal letter introducing yourself to us, then how can we think you’re seriously interested in spending 15+ minutes to interview with us?   • Finalize home completions and walk homes or buildings with the construction manager and the client
  • Participate in the forward planning process to ensure the building will be well-maintained in the future
  • Ensure maintenance of a clean job site, watering the yard as needed to create a good exterior appearance
  • Develop your construction skills and technique by helping the construction manager, contractors, project engineers, and builders with all aspects of the job and the daily procedures of the project so it’s completed quickly
  • Secure on-site material deliveries, prepare materials for returns, fill out purchase orders, remove debris, and handle waste removal properly

  • Will need to be able to take direction and guidance from Rehab Manager
  • Handyman qualities, knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, concrete/foundational basic knowledge, all in all general experience in construction
  • A positive attitude and willingness to encourage co-workers
  • Establish and maintain each project's Scope of Work
  • Ability to ALWAYS see a home’s highest and best use and deliver the correct final product. Do we need to open up a wall for flow? Do we need to add a bathroom? Should a basement be finished?  There’s only one correct answer at every single home and it’s vital you have this vision
  • Ability to quickly learn the nuances of our 4 different sales methods so you know on-site, at initial inspection, the best use for each property (rental, sell as-is, retail rehab, etc.)
  • Obtain estimates and bids from subs and vendors, plan material and purchase orders, ensure work is within project scope and manage subcontractors' progress against plan
  • Anticipate upcoming obstacles and eliminate or solve problems to complete projects on time by being proactive.
  • Weekly reporting on project schedules to our Rehab manager and the owner of the company 
  • Ability to fully inspect every aspect of a house, quickly estimate a rough budget for labor and materials, and deliver thorough information so our sales team can properly negotiate home purchase prices with sellers
  • Ability to organize the full project from initial inspection, to SOW creation, crew hiring, QC inspections during open construction to finalizing the project. A true cradle to grave solution

  • Display a strong work ethic, professionalism and teamwork, and a history of regular attendance at work and adherence to project schedules
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have good physical stamina to climb ladders and climb stairs, work outdoors for long periods of time
  • Carry a valid driver's license and a clean driving record

  • 3+ years of experience in general handyman or construction work
  • Highly knowledgeable of construction processes
  • Positive, problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work alongside the trades to insure timely project completion
  • Able to assist staff and suppliers in moving and managing materials
  • Proven production of quality results (give us some proof and show us some of your previous work!)
  • Oversee all vendors, crews, trades, etc. Negotiating is a very heavy part of the job and you need a good understanding of psychology, how to win people over to your ideas, and how to obtain performance from all parties while creating win/win relationships.
  • Detailed understanding and adherence to safety and building standards that comply with all company, local, city, state, and federal guidelines
  • Must be very comfortable with all tech, CRM, Word, Excel, new Apps, site drawing programs, online hiring boards to obtain crews, heavy phone and networking skills, and able to think outside the box to get projects completed on time.
