A general manager at Kilwins will run the daily operations of the store. He/She will ensure the theater kitchen is active at high volume times and that the staff is equipped to provide excellent service. This person will be accountable for meeting budget and projections, and upholding standards and procedures for staff. The staff is generally between the ages of 14-25 years. He/She must understand store culture and values and be able to address personnel issues in alignment with these values. This person will focus on the overall theme of “selling enjoyment” and the values that lead to community growth.
Kilwins is a family-owned confectionary franchise. We cook 80% of our wares in our theater-style kitchen at the front of the store. Our goal is to bring enjoyment to our customers with the additional component of the mission to be a life-giving business. This expresses itself practically in how we relate to local communities and our seasonal employees in their transitions between semesters and summers. We show care for them as humans not just as pegs in the system. We have strict policies surrounding attendance and service to protect store culture. All policies were developed from our core values which focus on honor in the midst of conflict, showing practical care through good communication, supporting personal responsibility in the context of diversity, and valuing each individual's need to dream and set goals. Our work environment is practically detailed, simple in scope, and requires physical and emotional stamina.
