Windle Design & Construction, a top firm in West Chester, PA is looking for an experienced General Contractor to join their team.

A General Contractor oversees all aspects of a construction project from start to finish. Their main duties include hiring and training Subcontractors, applying for the necessary licenses and building permits, and providing hands-on supervision and guidance to workers on the site.

As a general contractor, you are responsible for managing a wide range of projects, from small renovations to large-scale construction. To be successful in this role, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential.

Compensation:

• Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000

• Keep the project on the appropriate timeline. The General Contractor is directly responsible for ensuring a quality build within the quoted timeframe.
• Manage subcontractors and labor related to the job.
• Order materials related to the build and work with the vendors to ensure the correct deliveries are taking place according to the timeline and negotiate profitable agreements with external vendors, contractors, and critical subcontractors
•  Communicate the status of the project throughout the build with the client and other pertinent parties. 
• Manage multiple ongoing construction projects simultaneously of various complexity

• Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of direct experience building and remodeling houses and commercial spaces, preferably more, and must be able to 100% interpret and understand all construction documents and civil engineering plans, grades, retaining walls, etc
• Thorough knowledge of construction plans, including civil plans, and being 100% comfortable reading them and directing others to perform their duties
• Must provide a portfolio of previous projects
• Must have self-organization skills, as well as great problem-solving skills
• Forward-thinking, resourceful, and innovative at finding the best ways to ensure the company’s long-term success and growth
• Must have experience in remodeling, not just new construction
