Our ideal candidate must be able to thrive in a dynamic team-based environment, be highly organized/reliable, possess good judgment/people/communication skills, and have consistent time management abilities. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to respond to clients with empathy and concern, and comfortable with handling communication regarding accounts payable.

At least 1 year of experience working with the following types of clients will be considered most favorably: Family Law, Estate Planning, Probate, and Civil Litigation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Potential New Client inquiries by phone and by email
• Answer and direct phone calls
• Provide administrative support to lawyers and enhance office effectiveness
• Handle communication with clients, witnesses, etc.
• Work with the office manager, and executive committee regarding Accounts Receivable
• Maintain office reception area, conference room, and kitchenette in accordance with firm covid 19 protocols

Skills

• Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office

• Proficiency in English
• Excellent secretarial and organizational skills

• Answer phone calls and emails and communicate relevant information to the appropriate parties
• Greet visitors, clients, and fellow employees when they arrive at the front desk and provide them with any necessary directions or information
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail and handle deliveries
• Assist with other administrative tasks, such as data entry, copying, filing etc.
• Plan for company trips and outings and provide itineraries to ensure off-site activities are a success

• Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, customer service skills, and verbal communication skills
• At least one year of receptionist or administrative assistant, experience, or similar preferred
• Comfortable taking telephone calls and mitigating stressful situations
• Exhibits working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
• High school graduate, G.E.D. recipient, or equivalent
