The Opportunity: Director, Foodservice Sales
This is a full-time position involving a minimum of 40 hours per week and involves extensive travel that is in the 50-75% range.
As a member of the commercial team, you will contribute holistically to the success of the Hungry Planet® brand and company. This includes driving sales in the immediate term, but also building brand equity with the trade and consumers, setting up the business for long-term success with distributors and customers, and contributing to improving our organizational capabilities over time. You will have primary responsibility for the Foodservice Channel in a Region of the US – leading all distributor, broker, and buying group relationships that impact foodservice to maximize our launch, establish our brand, and drive profitable sales.

Responsibilities

  • Manage distributor relationship with divisions and OpCos of key distributors that fall within the assigned region – planning, sales, customer service, etc. (partner with VP of foodservice on HQ calls for distributors as needed)
  • Manage Broker relationships that fall within the assigned region – sales planning, key account calls, training, reporting, etc
  • Within assigned region - Develop and executing the go-to-market strategy for non-commercial and commercial foodservice channels that maximizes the productivity of available resources (Includes identifying, pursuing, and closing foodservice accounts directly as well as and in partnership with distributors/brokers)
  • Develop reports and entering progress into CRM database
  • Plan and participate at trade shows and conferences as needed to build the Hungry Planet brand and close sales
  • Partner with VP of Foodservice and other team members to forecast sales and deliver best in class customer service to our distributors and customers
  • Collaborate with all members of the Hungry Planet team to drive business results and maintain a rewarding, supportive, values-based culture
  • Represent Hungry Planet with the highest levels of integrity and professionalism
  • Maintain a flexible travel schedule in order to most effectively engage with clients and prospects, while wisely keeping expenses within budget and reasonable
  • Must have proven and extensive existing relationships and knowledge of working with corporate accounts and foodservice distributors nationally
  • Must have a demonstrable, proven track record of targeting and closing new accounts
  • Set up sales initiative, incentives, and programs in Foodservice classes of trade

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years’ recent Foodservice sales experience managing sales teams and corporate accounts (Manufacturer experience preferred)
  • Experience in understanding and executing sales within company goals
  • Ability to train, motivate and build a great team environment for direct representative
  • Proven track record of leveraging relationships to achieve business goals
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related desired
  • Ability to work and maintain a flexible travel schedule in order to meet customer expectations and availability, including a Valid US Driver’s license
  • Demonstrated negotiation and persuasion skills as well as demonstrate effective public speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with data and interpretation of data
  • Willingness to travel nationally on a regular basis

Compensation
$95,000 + (Depending on Experience)
