Our well-established law firm is looking for a tactical attorney with courtroom experience to work in our first-party insurance practice. If you have an exceptional commitment to service, experience in various litigation phases, from case management and motion practice to mediation, and persuasive oral and written communication skills, we may be your best career opportunity. Our team includes effective and seasoned legal professionals and we’re dedicated to mentoring aspiring associate attorneys.

Are you passionate about helping people?

Do you want to work at a firm where your work really matters? We are not your typical small law firm! We are small enough that everyone is a critical part of the team, yet big enough to offer the security and benefits you want. Work where you know the Owner, have daily interaction with clients, and help us grow the firm.

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload. To be a key player on our team, you must be dedicated to excellence and hard work, but also know how to collaborate with a paralegal team well.

Salary is commensurate with skill and experience and is negotiable. The compensation package includes base salary plus bonus compensation for production and performance. We offer health, vision, dental, and disability insurance. 8 paid holidays and 11 days of personal time off. We also pay for continuing legal education, bar dues, and some approved voluntary bar memberships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage caseload with little to no supervision.
  • Create quality legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and correspondence for use in court proceedings
  • Handle depositions, mediations, court appearances, evidentiary and special set hearings
  • Conduct legal research, audit for coverage issues, and draft legal documents to develop and implement winning strategies for cases
  • Weigh all available options for successful insurance case first-party action and advise clients accordingly

Qualifications

  • Experience using legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis required
  • Definitive decision-making, strong public speaking, and strong interpersonal communications skills are vital
  • Must hold a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and have at least two years of experience representing clients
  • The ability to work independently and meet all required needs of a heavy caseload is crucial
