The Financial Planning Consultant works with financial advisors to deliver planning and investment solutions to their clients through a comprehensive planning process that integrates insurance and investment products.

Responsibilities

Consultation and Education

  • Promote, utilize, and reinforce a planning culture aligned to Northwestern Mutual’s planning philosophy, best practices, and planning assumptions
  • Reinforce the advisor’s adherence with the firm’s business and compliance guidelines
  • Identify additional resources when appropriate, such as senior advisors, subject matter experts, and external wholesaler partners.

Case Preparation/Support

  • Collaborate with the internal team to develop and deliver consistent plans aligned with planning best practices and assumptions for every advisor subscribing to the team’s services.
  • Transact rollover calls with fund companies and clients
  • Ability to prepare, or collaborate with the internal team to provide all materials and information new advisors need to support the investment client onboarding process, account funding, transfer requests, etc.
  • Collaborate as needed to provide, an integrated package for advisors to deliver to their clients as part of a pre-sale package. This includes proposals, Investment Policy Statements, hypotheticals, etc.
  • Products being recommended may include mutual funds, managed/advisory solutions, annuities, individual securities, ETFs, 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, and/or related field
  • Life, Accident & Health Insurance licenses - Preferred
  • Series 6 or 7 & 63
  • Advisory services and broker/dealer experience with demonstrated investment knowledge and understanding of markets, products, platforms, and services
  • Ability to assess client financial situations and analyze portfolios to develop and implement comprehensive financial plans aligned with client goals
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with others

Compensation
$65,000 to $80,000
