POSITION SUMMARY:
CR of Maryland, a rapidly growing real estate investment firm in the Baltimore area, is looking to hire a Financial Controller. The company acquires and sells over 30 properties per month, manages over 400 single-family properties, and is actively overseeing $3m+ in renovations.

The Financial Controller will report directly to the President as a member of the Leadership Team, they will be responsible for ensuring full general ledger accounting procedures and policies are adhered to.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of all property-level and entity-level accounting
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the general ledger accounting processes and activities
  • Analyze financial statements, including current monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date variances.
  • Oversee journal entries and bank reconciliations
  • Oversee monthly financial packages
  • Review and oversee financial statements
  • Review balance sheet supporting schedules including capital improvements, straight-line rents, and depreciation as required.
  • Review/Prepare cashflow projections as required per asset/portfolio.
  • Prepare annual budgets and report against budgets.
  • Collaborate with accounting firm on year-end audit and tax packages as required.
  • Oversee the approval process on invoices for submission for payment.
  • Understanding of lease compliance for all lease-related payments.
  • Oversee property management receivables.
  • Generate and post monthly recurring rental charges.
  • Calculate and post annual tenant operating expense reconciliations.
  • Oversee property management collections process and results.
  • Manage collections efforts.
  • Oversee payables.
  • Manage the processing of payroll.
  • Interface with company counsel and tax advisors
  • Handle special projects as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $97,000.00 - $122,000.00 per year

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of related accounting experience with 3 years of management experience 
  • Experience working with Quickbooks
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment and meet demanding deadlines.

Compensation
$97,000 - $122,000 yearly
