The Filter Operator is responsible for maintaining tank activity, pasteurizing raw product and clarifying product to meet customer specifications in compliance with the company’s Safe Quality Food program.

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain area, equipment, and personal hygiene. Utilize downtime to keep work area neat, clean and orderly.
  • Communicate effectively with other plant personnel regarding any production issues, changes, and safety issues.
  • Communicate potential and actual Food Safety Issues to personnel (direct Supervisor or QA) to initiate the corrective action process.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a team member to accomplish various production goals.
  • Enter data on production sheets. All required paperwork must be clear, legible, complete and accurate.
  • All Badger State Fruit Processing employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
  • All Badger State Fruit Processing employees are expected to produce and promote our products and services in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies, and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
  • Assist with any special projects at the request of Management.

Operational Tasks: 

  • Operation of the pasteurizer and Koch Filtration Systems
  • Assist with the breakdown of bins
  • Assist with the bagging of Pomace

Operational Tasks (Cont.): 

  • Monitor waste water levels
  • Perform equipment checks at established intervals during processing to ensure product quality and equipment performance
  • Be familiar with variations of production for specialty runs and/or down equipment bypasses
  • Monitor add back drums by CIP Skid B; closing up any full drums in a timely fashion
  • Receive incoming tankers, load tankers with product, seal tankers and complete proper documentation in the event the Evaporator/RO Operator is unavailable for load-out
  • Perform pH Meter Calibrations

Food Safety and Quality Tasks: 

  • Communicate potential and actual Food Safety Issues to personnel (direct Supervisor or QA) to initiate the corrective action process.
  • Keep production area free of wooden bins by removing broke down bins to stacks or trailers outside.
  • Operator should clear floor of berries and juice between each grind to prevent excessively slippery conditions and poor housekeeping.
  • Sanitation
  • Perform Pre-Operational Inspections
  • Maintain product traceability on the as appropriate on required paperwork
  • Managing Traceability of Add Back Syrup and Juice
  • Understanding and execution of Juice HACCP Plan CCP2 and CCP3
  • Inspection and monitoring of in-process magnet and filter

Qualifications

  • Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
  • Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices.
  • Ability to read, prepare and comprehend production sheets.
  • Ability to run forklifts safely.
  • Basic knowledge of GMPs.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Basic computer skills.


Compensation
$19.50 per hour
