As a Fertilizer Technician for HEROES Fertilizer Force, you will meet with residential and commercial customers to provide outstanding lawn care service. A successful Fertilizer Technician will be able to spot concerns, recommend solutions, and ensure the safe and appropriate application of chemical products and fertilizer to enhance the quality of our customer’s lawns. Finally, you will work with the General Manager to optimize production efficiency and ensure the highest level of customer service with an effective schedule and routes.

$23 - $27 hourly with a signing bonus for having commercial certification or passing the required tests.

• Provide service to residential customers by identifying insects, weeds, diseases, and other lawn issues and implementing appropriate control solutions and lawn applications through service calls and other customer communications.
• Safe and appropriate application of chemical products and fertilizer to enhance lawn quality.
• Professionally interact with clients and business personnel.
• Maintain personal, equipment, and vehicular safety as it relates to job requirements.
• Follow a daily schedule and ensure timely arrival at each account (a company vehicle is provided).
• Organize equipment and products in your assigned vehicle.
• Ensure standards of cleanliness are being adhered to daily and proper disposal of all fertilizer residue and containers.
• Provide additional lawn services such as aeration, soil amendment, and overseeding.
• Assist in generating sales to current and new customers through contact on the service route.
• Measure lawns of potential customers to provide accurate cost estimation.
• Support others with obtaining lawn care licensure by providing one-on-one coaching and instruction.

• Minimum of two years (application seasons) of employment as a commercial applicator, may accept one year (application season) of employment with a commercial applicator plus equivalent education.
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification (or ability to obtain) in categories CORE and 3A (Turfgrass Pest Management).
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification (or ability to obtain) in categories 3B (Ornamental Pest Management), 6 (Right-of-Way Pest Management), 7A (General Pest Management), & 7F (Mosquito Management) preferred.
• Experience with sprinkler systems and repair is a major PLUS.
• Ability to be highly functional in a team environment, as well as able to perform with minimum supervision and direction.
• A clean driving record and pass an internal insurance background check to drive a company vehicle.
• Not bothered by working outside in a variety of weather conditions
• Be able to diagnose insect and disease issues in the field.
