Family Law Paralegal - Remote 

Brighter Day Law is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our amazing team starting in early 2022! Our mission is to compassionately help families resolve their disputes with personalized legal representation while keeping the best interest of the entire family at heart.

Do you have a passion for helping people going through difficult times?

We are looking for an experienced paralegal to play an integral role in our legal team. When clients hire us, they are going through an emotionally difficult period in their lives, and our goal is to help them make their lives better. Working, primarily, remotely our paralegal will handle legal services duties related to drafting and case management, as well as perform administrative and soft skills duties in assisting the firm in providing a high standard of service to clients.

This client-facing position requires the combination of empathy, experience, and skill, all essential to interacting with and building relationships with clients while supporting our attorneys. 

Starting Pay: $23 - $26 Hourly, dependent on experience. Compensation includes a base plus benefits, including firm covered medical & life insurance, 401K, and paid time off in accordance with firm policies, and merit-based raises and bonuses.

Responsibilities

The ideal is someone who can hit the ground running:

  • Scheduling attorney appearances, mediation, conferences, and/or meetings and, as appropriate, participating in client strategy meetings.
  • Drafting, filing, and/or organizing correspondence, disclosure documents/information, and pleadings.
  • Helping lawyers with hearings by organizing and preparing exhibits, filing motions, and coordinating witnesses.

A successful candidate will be creative, organized, and compassionate, especially when conducting interviews with clients to gather information.

We all make mistakes, and we allow for that, but a penchant for accuracy and attention to detail are required to avoid mistakes that can cost clients dearly.

This position requires working on many cases concurrently; so, time management and the ability to prioritize are a must.

Qualifications

  • Sense of humor, positive attitude, and willingness to work as a team!
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in family law, preferably in Colorado. 
  • Undergraduate degree or paralegal certification preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required
  • Ability to adhere to the utmost levels of professionalism.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects and cases.
  • Willingness to work after hours when needed.

Compensation
$23 - $26 Hourly
