Family Law Attorney with experience in Colorado
There is a better way to practice Family Law.
That is the premise of New Leaf Family. If you agree, you may want to read on!
The founders of New Leaf believe that:
And we are hiring.
We are looking for family law attorneys, with experience, who would like to work with a team that believes as we do, and who want to reduce the attorney-induced drama needless escalation of conflict, and focus instead on building a future with and for clients.
The system as practiced in many firms seems designed to wear down the clients, and the attorneys. There is a better way of doing things, so that the balance, most days, has you feeling awesome about how much you are positively affecting people’s lives. We can't eliminate the tough days ... we're not magicians ... but we are on a mission, and that makes it a lot more fun!
To be a good fit for this role, you should be someone who is looking for an opportunity to focus on helping people navigate the biggest decisions they will face in their lives: changes in their family. Whether divorce, separation, custody, parenting time, visitation, or other family changes, disputes, or crises, you want to help them reach the best outcome that is consistent with their values.
We need you to be proficient in Colorado family Law practice and procedure. At the same time, we want you to not be "set in your ways," or wedded to “the way things have always been done.” You should be an optimist, and a realist, at the same time.
We need you to be creative and able to think outside the box, while also adhering to the established parameters of law and court procedure.
Of course, you must have the skills necessary to advocate for clients before a mediator or a court, and not be afraid to do so. You also know that litigation is not always the path to the best outcome. You are not motivated by the thrill of the other side losing but are dedicated to achieving an optimal outcome for clients consistent with their values – which you, along with our team, may help them discover.
You understand that this process is about more than writing legal documents. You are eager to marshall the resources of our team that can go beyond the “bare minimum” and provides all the help the clients may need. You are excited about being part of a firm that will be there for them, even outside the strictly legal aspects of these major life changes --whether it be help finding a new home, a car, the right insurance, a babysitter, or an IT guy...
You are committed, above all, and in everything we do, to an excellent experience for clients.
If you're still reading this, and believe this might be a role for you, let me tell you about us. New Leaf Family has started a family law practice serving the greater Denver area. We are combining our founders' talents of running successful law firms, with the experience of having built law firms, including a very successful family law practice, and wanting to do it again (and again.)
This firm will serve as a model for growth in Colorado, and likely beyond. We are able to serve clients more fully, and more efficiently, bringing family law services to people who have been scared away by the high, and unpredictable costs of family law firms led by trial lawyers who can be more interested in winning, than in achieving a great outcome for their clients.
When you apply, please briefly let me know why this role, in particular, gets you excited... This is key. Don't skip it! (you will be prompted separately to answer this question)
We look forward to hearing from you!
You will be a captain on our multi-faceted team. The members of our team include paralegals, assistants, coaches, counselors, and more, all focused on empowering clients to navigate change and conflict in their family lives. You will help clients to develop and articulate a vision of the future they are working to achieve and prepare a strategy that helps them to achieve it. We believe that we should not impose what we see as "the solution" onto clients' lives. How will you do this?
For this particular role, you should also meet these criteria:
New Leaf Family is a law firm, yes. But we do things... differently.
We are focused on empowering our clients to resolve their family conflicts. We exist to help them understand the future they want to build, use our skills/experience to help them plan their path, and help them implement it.
We understand that our clients don't come to us with legal problems. They are experiencing personal conflict. Their problems likely have an intersection with the law, which is why we’re the right team to help them. But that isn’t the totality of their problem, so it's not the end of how we serve our clients.
We are fully equipped and ready to engage in whatever level of litigation is needed to protect those values, hopes, and desires!
Our work doesn't begin and end with the legal process. It begins before that and continues long past. Our mission is to help solve problems, sometimes including other professionals in our work.
