Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist our clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Responsibilities
  • Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases
  • Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
  • Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process
  • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed
  • Keep client files properly organized and up to date

  • Must be a good standing member of the Texas Bar.
  • 5+ years experience in Family Law.
  • Proven history handling Family Law cases, including litigation.
  • You should be a self-starter, quick learner, and have a solid ability to work both independently and with a team.  
  • Creative problem solving, flexibility, and an ability to prioritize are important. 
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Have a sickening degree of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiar with Apple products, i.e. Macs, is a plus.
  • Have solid computer and time management skills. 
  • Demonstrate a high degree of discretion, confidentiality, and integrity in the handling of personal client information, including following the Rules of Professional Conduct.  
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic with high standards for quality of work. 
  • Be able to interact with clients, colleagues, and co-workers in a compassionate, personable and professional manner. 
  • Ability to report accurate time daily in the firm’s case management system.

Qualifications
  • 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
  • Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)
  • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary
  • Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background
  • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants

  • Skills and experience are required, appreciated, and valued, but personality, character, intelligence, and integrity will be paramount considerations. Compensation
$90,000 - $95,000
