A lot of great lawyers have “hung their own shingle” at some point only to discover they are unenthusiastic about the business of running a law firm. If this is you – a great attorney who wants to help clients but doesn’t want to or is tired of the grind of the marketing and management and metrics it takes to run a law firm – we have an opportunity that will change your life.

There are many reasons why talented, hard-working attorneys make the decision to start their own law firms. Bad bosses. Lack of client control. No work/life balance. The chance to make more money and have more freedom. So, you strike out to follow a dream of owning your own firm and being your own boss. And then you find out not one single law school class or CLE has helped you prepare for what to do when the phone isn’t ringing, or when potential clients say they can’t afford you and need a discount.  We’ve all faced the dread of having to call a client and ask them to pay their bill, just to be told “No.” If you have ever hired and had to manage an assistant or a paralegal, you know the crunch and stress of choosing to pay them before you pay yourself.

With the circumstances created by the global pandemic and the social justice demonstrations, all of these stressors are heightened.  Well, you do not need to be alone and you certainly do not have to live without a net!

If you are disenchanted with being a mediocre business owner—or don’t even want to take the risk to find out-- but you want to continue to be a really great lawyer, it’s okay. Sometimes we need to give ourselves permission to know what we don’t like and don’t want to do. It’s hard and the decision has to be the right one for you.

This aligns with our mission; we built our law firm around helping people move forward to where they want to be. We help find the opportunities that are all wrapped up in what looks like a problem. We can also help you get you where you do want to be.

We are looking for an experienced attorney who has a passion for the law and for helping people. Let us handle the marketing and sales, the client development, the billing and collections, the facilities and personnel issues-- all those "administrative" duties that take time away from letting the world know of your legal excellence.

We have a team in place to make sure you are not alone, and you are not bound by admin work.  All you have to focus on is handling the clients and providing outstanding client service along with your legal brilliance!

We want to help the right person to reclaim (or continue to have) work/life balance. We want to help you continue to be in love with the law and with the feeling of helping people find a better life.  We want to help you continue to be a great lawyer, instead of a struggling solo.

WE ARE SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE PREVIOUS FAMILY LAW EXPERIENCE, WE ASK THAT YOU DO NOT APPLY.

The firm is on track for aggressive growth and we need an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team and hit the ground running. We want to be known for helping our clientele come out of an extremely emotional process feeling as though they are a better person, in a better position, and that they had a team behind them that really cared and fought for them.

If the following statements appeal to you, then you may be a good fit:

  • You practice family law because you enjoy helping people.
  • You pride yourself in high-quality work.
  • You want to practice law in a supportive and friendly work environment that will consider your personal, professional, and financial goals.
  • You want to work at a firm that is set up with cloud-based systems to enable you to work remotely on occasion (work from home days possible.)
  • You are very good with electronic calendars, e-mail, spreadsheets, word processing, and internet research.
  • You can meet a billable requirement of at least 32 hours a week.
  • You think in terms of outlines, chronologies, and indexes.
  • You see an opportunity for clarification and organization where other people see a mess.
  • You are an amazing and creative writer with a sickening degree of attention to detail.
  • You are a well-respected, assertive advocate who always maintains a high level of personal and professional integrity and professional ethics both inside and outside of the office.
  • You are an awesome juggler of tasks and can change gears quickly.
  • You do not think scanning and copying are “beneath you.”

You will be expected to manage a full active caseload, so you absolutely must be able to manage your time effectively.

Compensation: Competitive commensurate with skills and ability. In addition to a base salary, there is an opportunity for bonus compensation based upon billed and collected hours (dollars). We offer health insurance coverage for the individual and contribution towards CLE and other attorney State regulatory fees.
