This is a role for an Associate who can hit the ground running and who meets the criteria set forth below. We have cultivated a remarkable team that embraces the belief that the work we do is more than just a job, it is a way to help protect the lives of the families we serve.

Responsibilities

This Associate will be responsible for all aspects of clients’ matters including:


  • Conducting initial consultations and devising strategies; 
  • Delegating work to paralegals and legal assistants and monitoring their work;
  • Preparing documents for sophisticated Estate Plans;  
  • Preparing petitions for instructions or trust modification;
  • Preparing and/or overseeing Trust Administration from beginning through Trustee Final Report and Accounting;
  • Leading and participating in the initial and final meetings with clients;
  • Cultivating relationships with the Firm’s existing and future clients by maintaining consistent and timely communication.


Experienced with Court-Supervised Trust Administration:


  • Appear at OSC/review hearings as they pertain to the Compromise matter, as necessary
  • Appear at all hearings, including accounting hearings, as scheduled, and complete hearing memo
  • Prepare checklist for documents and information needed for matter
  • Manage paralegal’s processing of matter
  • Communicate with Trustee and interested parties redistributions and administrative matters
  • Communicate with PI firms, Clients, and/or interested parties as necessary during process
  • Review and edit pleadings, account schedules, Trustee Fee Declarations, etc., including reviewing all information and documents in case file
  • Coordinate billing for matter
  • Review probate notes
  • Edit Supplements as necessary


Experienced with Probates & Conservatorships:


  • Communicate with PI firms, Clients, and/or interested parties re intake of matter, as necessary
  • Prepare checklist for documents and information needed for matter
  • Manage paralegal’s processing of matter
  • Communicate with PI firms, Clients, and/or interested parties as necessary during process
  • Coordinate billing for matters
  • Review and edit pleadings, including reviewing all information and documents in case file
  • Coordinate billing for matter
  • Review tentative rulings/probate notes
  • Edit and finalize Supplements as necessary
  • Appear at hearings and complete hearing memo

Qualifications

  • Has three (3) to five (5) years’ experience;
  • Has Estate Planning and/or Estate Administration experience;
  • Has Conservatorship, Probate, and/or Special Needs Trust experience;
  • Is licensed with the California State Bar;
  • Is comfortable being the clients’ primary point of contact;
  • Has the capacity to handle matters and clients independently (after a period of orientation and monitored work);
  • Shows compassion when dealing with clients and has a talent for winning their confidence and respect;
  • Is willing to work hard to see that clients receive top-notch service and results;
  • Has strong computer skills with extensive experience using MS Office Suite, timekeeping, and case management software;
  • Is someone of character with intelligence and grit and who will contribute positively to the atmosphere within the office.

Compensation
$80,000 - $100,000 yearly
