Carolina Family Estate Planning, an Estates, Trusts, and Wills law firm in Cary is looking for an experienced Estate Planning Paralegal to join our growing team. We have been helping clients live better lives by planning for a secure future for over a decade with a clear commitment to growing our business and our team while providing one of the most intimate and delicate legal services that exist. This role will have a significant impact on our clients' experience, legal team efficiency and effectiveness, and the firm's ability to accomplish our goals. This position will be fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the estate planning process by managing each matter as its own individual project, from inception to completion
  • Assist with data entry and drafting estate planning documents
  • Proofread and review estate planning documents for accuracy
  • Ensure that attorney calendars are managed to maximize their ability to do high-level legal work
  • Triage legal questions via email and respond appropriately with attorney advice used as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely management of our internal processes to provide the highest level of client service
  • Work with clients to collect necessary information regarding their planning process and decisions
  • Work independently and with other team members to provide the highest level of legal counseling for clients
  • Facilitate estate plan signing meetings

Qualifications

It is essential that this person be warm, energetic, poised, team and goal-oriented. You will be meeting with clients in-person via the web, and by phone, while dealing with various tasks including estate plan document assembly, substantive drafting assistance, data entry, proofreading, and calendar management.

Here are the basic qualifications:

  • You have a college degree or 2+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in estate planning
  • You have strong phone skills and are comfortable speaking with all types of people
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software programs are required
  • Ability to work in a positive manner with a variety of personnel within a team environment
  • Superior customer service skills and a demonstrated willingness to go above and beyond in delivering exceptional service
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency to get positive results
  • NC Notary public or willingness to attain their notary public
  • Have problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Have experience using the Adobe, Google Apps, and Microsoft Office 365 platforms
  • Be detail-oriented and highly organized

Here are the preferred qualifications:

  • Significant drafting experience estate plans
  • Recent use and competency of the WealthCounsel document drafting platform
  • Knowledge and understanding of asset protection trust planning

Compensation
$50,000 - $57,000+ DOE
