If you have experience in estate planning, you may be an excellent addition to our expanding law firm. We are looking for a highly analytical candidate with good drafting and organizing capabilities who can work full time or part time. As our estate planning attorney, you will draft trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advanced health care directives for our New Mexico clients and their families. If you have experience with probate proceedings in NM, your skills will be of high value to our clients and firm.
- Prepare wills, trusts, and power of attorney documents
- Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
- Communicate with clients about plans for dispersing their assets
- Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
- Must have worked on estate planning and probate law issues for at least 1-2 years
- Excellent communication skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
- Wide range of knowledge regarding real estate-related topics such as title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigation
- Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
- Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Licensed and in good standing in New Mexico
