Our successful technician candidate understands hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical and computer systems and is able to properly diagnose and perform repairs. - Operate diagnostic equipment to accurately determine the cause of malfunction codes with the equipment's integrated computer system
- Examine all equipment systems such as the hydraulic, engine, transmission, and emissions systems with a step-by-step approach
- Clearly articulate repair issues and repairs needed to remedy them to both customers and supervisors
- Facilitate customer satisfaction and repeat business by following all manufacturer specifications for repairs and maintenance
- Generate clear and complete notes describing issues, diagnostics, remedies, repairs, and test results on each job
- GED or high school diploma is mandatory
- Excellent customer service and communications skills are necessary
- National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, or ASE certification is strongly desired
- Must have completed a post-secondary training program in automotive service technology; associate degree a plus
