We are growing! Weber's growth created a need for an Engineering Manager for our Thermoform Packaging product line. Every customer has unique needs and we are dedicated to customizing our machines to meet those needs. This position will be responsible for the packaging design and integration at Weber, Inc. Are you an Engineer with documented success as an individual contributor who would like to expand your influence and develop others to achieve success? We are seeking only the best of the best to join our Weber team. Some of the responsibilities expected of the Engineering Manager are:

  • Establish the serial standard of North American packaging machines, integration of packaging equipment, ancillary equipment, tooling design, creating models and drawings for parts and assembly groups with Solid Works
  • Create and modify layout drawings in Solid Works and AutoCad
  • Maintains machine records (SAP) and documentation
  • Collaborate with Director of Technology, Product Managers, and others on the packaging product roadmap
  • Guide Applications Engineers, Director of Technology, and others to create customized equipment solutions
  • Support the service team on successful launch and installations of packaging machines in the North American market
  • Integrate with global design team to ensure Weber design standards are met
  • Support applications team with internal and external product testing for packaging products, modification design efforts across the whole portfolio with sanitary design expertise across the whole portfolio
  • Support production team with expertise in manufacturing requirements and supply chain team in cost reduction efforts

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple, parallel projects using formal project planning techniques with excellent technical skills demonstrated by the ability to create models and drawings in metrical system
  • Basic knowledge of electrical controls, pneumatic controls, and hygienic design is required
  • Excellent problem-solving ability; Ability to coordinate own and others actions, manage own time
  • Sensitivity to problems; ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
  • Employee must be personable with excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a team environment is essential
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively present information, respond to questions from clients, customers, and the general public
  • German language knowledge preferred but not required


  • Masters degree preferred in Design Engineering or related field
  • Bachelor degree in design engineering and 5 years of proven work experience in a related field
  • Experience working with thermoform packaging equipment strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with computers including all proficient with computers including MS Windows, MS Office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks. Experience with SAP is preferred
