Real Boss Women is seeking a Director of Audience & Brand Development to join our team and play a key role in pushing our company from startup to industry influential. The Director of Audience - Brand Development will set the direction for audience growth, engagement, and analysis. The ideal candidate will be someone who deeply understands the digital media industry, craves building authentic relationships, and enjoys developing strategies for winning new customers, creating raving fans, and developing an engaged community on social media. This person has a heart for empowering women and entrepreneurs! This is a full-time, remote position.

  • Uncover and develop new opportunities for audience growth
  • Create and manage the podcast experience from concept to execution with an eye toward messaging, audience growth, and retention
  • Identify and coordinate speaking opportunities for the CEO with influencers and conferences
  • Expand the Real Boss Women audience into new verticals
  • Create an audience development strategy
  • Develop/prioritize key projects to drive the growth of the audience at a scale
  • Amplify and extend the reach of Real Boss Women’s content via SEO, newsletters, social, email, and chat
  • Oversee social media strategy, to grow and optimize Joanne Bolt and Real Boss Women’s social media footprint
  • Develop a strategic roadmap and oversee tactical management of the paid media including performance targets, channel/vendor testing strategies, creative/messaging development, and performance benchmarks
  • Drive email list growth strategy and implementation
  • Develop KPIs and ensure all audience development activities are deliberate, targeted, and measurable
  • Explore new distribution platforms and make recommendations to the CEO


  • 3+ years of experience in the media industry with a thorough understanding of online business models and audience strategies
  • Deep understanding of and experience with all audience development channels (SEO, social, newsletter, and partnerships)
  • Detailed knowledge of social channels including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok, and LinkedIn
  • Deep understanding of email strategies and testing
  • Detailed knowledge of major web analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics
  • Ability to clearly articulate and present analyses to the CEO
  • Entrepreneurial and digitally savvy, with exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • An innate understanding of where and how to nurture audiences with cohesive strategies that drive growth, event attendance, and audience engagement
  • Ability to identify trends and provide action-oriented insights
  • Hands-on experience managing paid media audience acquisition programs
  • Keen interest in experimenting with new platforms, including confidence about pivoting quickly and implementing new processes with speed and accuracy
  • Candidates must be willing to work on Eastern Standard Time
