This position is responsible for setting clear and compelling direction for the overall aesthetic look and feel of Tim O’Brien Homes. This is executed by researching, selecting, displaying and maintaining available products, which meet the desired criteria for aesthetics and fashion, as well as product performance, availability, and value. This position is also responsible for the timely scheduling, execution, and completion of all customer Selections appointments, resulting in a consistent EXTRAOrdinary Experience for all Tim O’Brien Homes customers.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a singularly welcoming and memorable experience for all customers, through continuous innovation and improvement of all sensory experiences available to the customer in the Design Center, including visual, auditory, olfactory (smell/aroma), gustatory (snack and beverage offerings), and facilitating a high-level, professional, organized and efficient experience, from which customers depart feeling confident and energized.
  • Serve and lead as the public “face” and “voice” of the Design Center experience, inside and outside the company, including internal and external media appearances as required.
  • Schedule, host, and conduct Design Center Previews on a regular basis (minimum 2/month).
  • Communicate proactively, and update Sales and other team members regarding all customer interactions, so that all customer-facing personal present a consistent message at all times.
  • Schedule appointments and complete customer selections according to published TOH process, sequence and timeframe(s).
  • Guide all customers to make choices from among the company’s current curated offerings, based on thorough preparation, engaged discovery, and industry-leading product knowledge.
  • Document customer choices with 100% accuracy and submit complete paperwork for Customer and President’s approval.
  • Complete selections for all Ready, Model, and Parade Homes according to published TOH process, sequence and timeframe(s)
  • Follow-up and resolve all customer and vendor questions and concerns regarding selections in a decisive and timely fashion.
  • Select colors for visualizers, renderings, or other marketing materials as needed, and communicate/coordinate with Virtual Design (VDC) Team members as necessary.
  • Keep all Design Center displays up to date with current products, promptly removing all discontinued products.
  • Research and review new product offerings with applicable vendors and internal team members, in order to offer the most current products with an appropriate variety of options.
  • Select product offerings which are available with appropriate lead times, in order to meet production schedules.
  • Periodically educate (with vendor support as appropriate) Sales, Production and Customer Care Teams on features and benefits of all included products, as well as available customer choices.
  • Assist in securing applicable warranty information on all available products.
  • Participate as an active member of the Architecture Committee in order to provide insight regarding space planning, as well as the interior and exterior look and feel of TOH home designs.
  • Participate as an active member of Management, providing insight to the President, Director of Sales and Director of Purchasing on improving department performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Core Competencies/Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed construction blueprints, specifications, and basic development drawings.
  • Basic technology skills, including Microsoft Windows, Outlook (email), Bluebeam or a comparable markup tool, experience with a residential production pricing/scheduling system.

Required Experience/Education

  • Four (4) years prior experience in Interior Design o Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Timely completion of Success Strategies© DCPro Certification within 6 months of employment.

Compensation
$60,000 - $65,000
