We’re looking for an enthusiastic, professional receptionist to join our team! You’ll play a crucial role as the face and first point of contact for our organization. You will coordinate all financial systems implemented in the practice in order to promote a positive patient experience; bill insurance, act as the liaison between the practice and insurance companies, present patient treatment plans and financial options when needed, and collect payment of the patient’s responsibility at the time of and throughout treatment.   • Respond to incoming phone calls and emails and make sure the right people receive all important information
  • Provide administrative support to other team members with data entry, paperwork, photocopying, etc. when needed

  • Maintain patient insurance benefit profiles
  • Respond effectively to patient questions, concerns, or complaints as needed
  • Ensure patient portions of payment are collected before appointments
  • Prepare collection sheet for each day
  • Complete end-of-day and end-of-month balancing
  • Ensure all patient payments are posted in a timely manner
  • Oversee patient billing
  • Oversee the submission of all insurance claims
  • Oversee follow-up system for outstanding insurance claims
  • Oversee follow-up system for overdue patient accounts
  • Oversee patient refunds
  • Maintain insurance updates for participating and non-participating companies
  • Communicate with outside financing companies
  • Ensure all payments are scanned and posted in patient charts
  • Assist with the implementation of practice marketing strategies such as asking for referrals and testimonials
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, customer service skills, and verbal communication skills
  • Well-versed in taking telephone calls and handling stressful situations

  • Ability to maintain friendly, professional attitude with patients and team members 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work with interruptions and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to speak, understand, and write fluent English
  • Ability to write legibly and work with numbers
  • Ability to complete tasks within required time frames
  • Knowledge of dental procedures a plus
  • Experience with dental practice management software a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

$18 - $23 hourly

Dr. Washington is a warm and engaging orthodontist treating patients in the greater New York City metropolitan area. He is a certified orthodontist, a Gold Level Invisalign® provider, and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Washington graduated from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine before he earned his degree in orthodontics from the University of Illinois in Chicago, and his bachelor's from Morehouse College. Dr. Washington’s patient care is influenced by his Southern upbringing; he is calm and comforting and is determined to educate his patients about their orthodontic care. Furthermore, he comes from a long line of educators, which has allowed Dr. Washington to develop a unique approach that his patients have fallen in love with.
