We are looking for an experienced construction superintendent who can lead our labor crew and subcontractors. You'll help our construction company plan and manage projects from start to finish for homeowners. Additional responsibilities include daily scheduling, maintaining the safety and compliance of a construction site, and supervising all activities. Our ideal candidate has at least 5 years of construction field experience with leadership skills in managing general contractors highly preferred. Responsibilities
  • Log daily records of progress and repair updates for the project manager and homeowner
  • Employ subcontractors and ensure they have all of the necessary permits
  • Review subcontractor output concerning schedules and success targets to ensure that the project is on track to be completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards required
  • Consult with the project's stakeholders to ensure that the project remains within budget
  • Reduce accidents and delays on construction sites by ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations and reporting any problems to the project manager as soon as they arise

Manage Home Construction

  • Conduct daily walks of all homes (twice per/day)
  • Manages daily construction schedule
  • Communicate with trade partners
  • Meet with City Inspectors

Manage Construction Quality

  • Perform quality control inspections
  • Prepare homes for New Home Orientation
  • Participate in Buyer Touch Point Meetings with Senior Superintendent
  • Assist Warranty Representatives as needed

Maintains Community Safety and Cleanliness

  • Complete and enforce of MonteVista Homes Assistant Superintendent Training program
  • Manage job cleanliness

Additional Duties

  • Maintain company vehicle per company and department policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Must have general contractor license
  • Physical stamina to lift at least 40 lbs and use heavy equipment
  • Possesses a deep understanding of the construction industry and the entire building process, including building codes, permits, construction equipment, material resources, project management principles, and construction methods
  • Minimum 5 years work experience as a general contractor needed, with additional management experience being preferred

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in residential and/or commercial construction required
  • Computer skills preferred (Microsoft Office, Adobe)
  • Must possess excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to clearly explain and resolve issues on the job site to trade partners, suppliers, inspectors, other project managers, and supervisors
  • Must be willing to work as part of a team and adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • The Assistant Superintendent must have the ability to solve problems in the field

Compensation
$80,000 estimated total compensation
