Would you like to help build your future communities? We are seeking an experienced construction professional with excellent leadership skills to join our Kalamazoo team. The Project Superintendent plans, organizes, and manages daily operations at our job sites and communicates frequently with clients and our team. Project locations are typically in the Kalamazoo and West Michigan areas.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of construction projects from planning and pricing to implementation
  • Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors
  • Develop, update, and implement project schedules
  • Meet construction budget by monitoring project expenditures, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions
  • Implement quality assurance program
  • Maintain safe, secure and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards
  • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, county officials, and clients
  • Order, monitor and coordinate materials deliveries
  • Expedite and monitor material and equipment approval
  • Oversee job closeout, punch list, and provide Owner occupancy training

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand drawings and specifications, general contract and subcontract documents, materials, means, and methods
  • Experience using Construction software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent organizational skills - ability to plan, execute and deliver projects on time with great quality
  • Strong sense of integrity, professionalism, and client-first attitude.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with sensitive matters.
  • A team player with strong leadership qualities
  • Very detail oriented with high standards of workmanship: Accuracy and problem-solving skills are critical for success in this role and continuing our tradition of top-quality projects
  • Familiarity with construction code and OSHA regulations

Compensation
$70,000 - $110,000 yearly
