Our construction company, Harvard Homes, is seeking an experienced construction professional with excellent leadership skills. If you're good at managing contractors, trades, hiring subcontractors, and maintaining safety and compliance at a construction site, then you might be perfect as our next construction superintendent. Our ideal candidate has construction field experience and can supervise all site activities and maintain safety compliance at all times. As a superintendent with Harvard Homes, you’ll spend 90% of your time out in the field, managing the day-to-day activities of a construction site.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze subcontractor productivity toward timelines and performance goals to ensure that the project is on schedule to be finished on budget and to the highest possible quality
  • Ensure that each construction project produces a high-quality finished product, manage construction workers, conduct routine on-site inspections, and provide guidance as needed
  • Reduce accidents and delays on construction sites by ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations and reporting any problems to the project manager as soon as they arise
  • Address the project's costs with clients to ensure that it remains within budget

  • Manage the timely and budgeted completion of all assigned house construction.
  • Establish good working relationships with the trades, vendors, Director of Construction, and Partners.
  • Manage time effectively, multi-task, and prioritize in order to meet established goals and deadlines.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and the entire building process, including building permits, building codes, construction equipment, material resources, construction methods, and project management principles
  • Superb organizational, leadership, time-management, and communication skills
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office software
  • Physically capable of using heavy equipment and lifting at least 40 pounds
  • A high school diploma is required, bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Capable of overseeing the scheduling, delivery, and use of materials, ensure the quality of construction, trade productivity, and compliance with building codes
  • Capable of understanding or learning architectural and engineered blueprints
  • Firm adherence to safety protocols

Compensation
$40,000 - $50,000
