HIRING: Clinical Psychologist. Must be licensed in the State of Michigan. Masters LLP, LP, Ph.D. required.

Diversified Counseling and Consulting Services, PLLC is located in Howell MI. We employ compassionate, caring, professional staff to assist our clients through difficult times. We are hiring a clinical psychologist, Ph.D. or Master's to provide psychological testing and counseling services. The individual will need to have a wide range of work experience with patients of all ages and clinical needs. This is a fee split position. Our office provides a comfortable and supportive workspace.

Requirements: Malpractice insurance ($1 million/$3 million). Minimum 2 years post-master insurance-based, outpatient treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Hours of Operation M-F 9 am-8 pm Saturday hours are 9 am- 2 pm.

Part-Time: 14-18 billable hours per week with 50% of sessions in prime hours. You are not required to work these exact hours, you are required to work enough hours during these times that it adds up to 10-14 hours sessions per week.

Full-Time: 18-26 billable hours per week with 50% of sessions in prime hours.

DCCS has a stable, diverse referral based-primarily BCN, BCBS, Blue Cross Complete, Aetna/Cofinity; VA CCN, UBH, Medicare; McLaren; Priority Health; UHC/Optum, Medicaid programs, and EAP Insurances.

COVID-19 considerations:
In response to COVID-19, we offer telehealth as well as in-office sessions. We adhere to the social distancing, screening, and mask-wearing requirements for in-office sessions per the CDC recommendations.

Position requires: a) professional diagnosis and evaluation of nature and severity of mental and emotional disorders in individual patients, families, and/or groups; b) administration, assessment, and interpretation of various psychological tests and assessments; c) formulation, implementation, and evaluation of a range of psychological therapeutic treatment plans; d) establishment and maintenance of patient medical records in accordance with regulations, policies, and established practices.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses or evaluates mental and emotional disorders of individuals and administers programs of treatment; interviews patients in clinics, hospitals, and other settings and studies medical and social case histories.
  • Observes patients in various situations; selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, personality, or other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment, and provides consultation to other mental health professionals with regard to test results.
  • Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments utilizing various psychological techniques; selects appropriate treatment approach and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of individual, group, and family therapies.
  • Assesses patient progress and modifies treatment programs accordingly; communicates with and counsels family members as appropriate.
  • Documents therapy in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records; implements and adheres to policies that ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Provides crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant current special education methodologies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses, and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the client.
  • Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills.
  • Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic programs and to make individual modifications.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Ability to assess mental status in clients and to develop individual treatment goals and plans.
  • Knowledge of psychological test administration, scoring, and interpretation.
  • Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records.
