The Client Relations Manager is responsible for the new client onboarding process.

The position's main responsibility is to meet with new potential clients and introduce the potential client to the firm and our services. This person is one of the first people a prospective client meets, so this person should be articulate and present professionally.

The Client Relations Manager’s primary duties are:

  • The Client Relations Manager must be articulate, client-oriented, caring, and responsive to client calls and emails.
  • Handle in-depth consultations with potential clients and get clients to hire the firm;
  • Meet monthly quota in converting potential clients to retained clients;
  • Proactively reach out to active clients at least once per month; and
  • Proactively reach out to past clients to express care and concern about their lives and offer additional assistance, as needed.


  • Manage schedule to balance availability for meeting with prospective new clients as well as following up with potential clients who said “no” and with current clients to conduct quality control calls and interviews.
  • Follow firm prescribed guidelines on how to communicate with potential clients in the most effective manner; collect information about the potential clients and the matters for which they are seeking the firm’s help; assure the potential clients that attorneys and staff will be able to help them; show compassion for their troubles, and explain how we can improve their lives.
  • Assess new potential clients and determine based on objective and subjective criteria which of these should offer to be retained.
  • Answer any non-legal questions raised by potential clients regarding filling out forms, sending documents to the firm, signing legal services agreements, or any other matter involving the potential client's pre-engagement relationship with the firm.
  • Maintain accurate records to track the number of potential clients who contact the firm, the number who come in for initial consultations, and the number who engage the firm.
  • Update CRM system with details of all interactions with prospects and clients in a timely manner
  • Prepare a weekly report to Managing Attorney summarizing the status of all referrals.
  • In accordance with the ethical rules governing lawyers, shall not provide legal advice, but shall otherwise manage all aspects of converting potential clients to clients.
  • Will stay in contact with potential clients who do not retain us after their initial consultation to keep the door open for them to retain us when they are ready.
  • Will call and follow up with all existing or prior clients to offer expected future services.
  • Will call or email all current clients of the firm regarding updates on a monthly basis.


  • The Client Relations Manager works closely with the Client Relations Specialist (intake personnel) to ensure the prospective client and onboarding of new client process is a smooth and professional process.
  • The Client Relations Manager must be confident, articulate, compassionate, and comfortable representing the firm while emailing and/or speaking with potential clients and clients. S/he must be able to bring potential clients to the point of onboarding them as new clients and following up with them within the first thirty days. S/he must be self-motivating and self-directed to achieve his or her professional goals and the firm’s goals.
  • The Client Relations Manager should have either some experience in sales and/or direct client relations. S/he should have education and/or work experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree.
