We are a small financial planning firm located in Tomball. We are very client-oriented and focus on advising/assisting our clients with their tax planning/preparation. This position directly supports our mission to provide the highest level of service and professionalism. The CPA – Tax Manager will facilitate assigned projects by serving as a liaison between the financial planning department and the tax teams.

The CPA- Tax Manager will be responsible for final sign-off on individual and business tax returns. The Tax Manager will also play an integral role with our Executive team and will be meeting with our clients to advise on tax planning and preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings.
  • Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits.
  • Responsible for approval and signature of the final tax returns for clients.
  • Make sure that clients comply with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws.
  • Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work.
  • Accurately prepare quarterly tax management reports.
  • Keep up to date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks, and reading professional publications.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Thompson-Reuters CS Ultra Tax.
  • Understanding of QuickBooks.
  • Understanding in Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must be able to meet with clients to gather information, answer calls and do research as needed for tax advising.
  • Management of the Tax Team.
  • Communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • CPA – prefer Texas.

Compensation
$100,000 - $110,000 yearly
