This is a Full-Time Position
Assists the center manager in projects and activities that support the operation of the Head Start Program/Center.

  • Assist with the recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance of families
  • Assists the center manager and driver in developing and maintaining bus routes
  • Greets visitors determines the nature of business, and directs visitors to the appropriate person or area
  • Assists in the recruitment and orientation of parents who volunteer in the center
  • Assists with the accommodations at parent meetings and other center events as requested by the supervisor
  • Send out monthly parent meeting notices
  • Data Entry/ COPA
  • Takes center attendance daily; calls families with children who are absent for reason absent (if applicable); enter attendance in approved data system (COPA required school district programs)
  • Prints health reports and submits them to the teacher
  • Files health data into child files
  • Communicates with outside agencies to obtain child health information
  • Answers the telephone and provides information to callers or routes calls to the appropriate staff
  • Authorized to verify income on Head Start applications
  • Handles incoming and outgoing center mail
  • Compares prices of requested purchases for agency program supplies
  • Prepares purchase orders and initiates requests to the supervisor
  • Program plans are program policies and are an addition to the employees' job descriptions. Violations of approved program plans are subject to disciplinary actions
  • In an emergency, the staff is expected to stay at their job and not abandon their duties and responsibilities. Staff may be asked to perform other duties for the health and safety of children


  • Office Assistant Certificate from a technical school and experience working with office machines and/or a combination of education and experience required

$11.36 hourly
