Our Senior Litigation Paralegal is a self-starter who takes client goals and attorney strategies and turns them into reality through detailed project management controls that allow for flexibility when plans change. Our Senior Litigation Paralegal is results-oriented and focused on achieving the goals of the client no matter the obstacle, refusing to place process above outcome. They can lead others effectively regardless of title or position, recognizing their unique and necessary role in both the success of the client, as well as the Firm. Our Senior Litigation Paralegal thrives under pressure, knowing that the system and processes are in place to ensure a successful result. 

Our Senior Litigation Paralegal performs a variety of tasks to help the legal team, including legal research and writing, drafting legal documents, and managing and organizing discovery so the right evidence is prepared and ready for the legal team. They have strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work confidently and efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines. They understand the value of task delegation as well as creating a team approach to get more done in less time. 

• Conduct legal research and initial case assessments
• Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and file them with the court
• Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc.)
• Schedule witness meetings and depositions in standard as well as multi-party cases
• Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
• Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
• Assist with witness preparation
• Provide assistance with case settlements
• Organize and manage litigation documents including discovery, motions, pre-trial documents, exhibits, and appendices
• Prepare basic pleadings
• Manage large discovery productions
• Review local court rules applicable to deadlines and filing procedures; calendaring and monitoring deadlines
• File documents electronically using CM/ECF, Odyssey, and PeachCourt
• Coordinate e-discovery 
• Communicate with clients throughout the client’s journey so they fully understand the progress of their case
• Coordinate the creation of billable time entries that convey the forward movement
• Prepare case status updates for the client throughout the case at regular intervals to keep them apprised of what’s been done and what’s going to be done
• Provide flexibility for occasional overtime when necessary

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Litigation Paralegal = 5+ years
• Experience in Complex Civil Litigation and Business Law
• Excellent communication skills 
• Good understanding of legal strategies and the position of clients
• Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to lead and delegate 
• Excellent project management skills
• Resilient problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail including grammar and spelling 
• A solid base of customer service
• Good knowledge of legal research techniques and databases
• Excellent knowledge of basic office programs, Case Management Software, and online applications including research tools
• Proven experience managing all aspects of Georgia and Federal civil litigation

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience using MyCase 
• Experience using a Mac computer and applications
• Experience with Google Workspace or Drive 
• Bachelor's degree
• Paralegal certificate
