Business Development Manager - Bilingual

This position is responsible for all business development aspects of the Branch location. Duties will include referral source management and growth, post-close client follow-up management, special event planning and coordination, as well as public relations and marketing.

  • Referral Source Management / Growth
  • Make outbound sales phone calls, texts, handwritten notes, emails, and in-person visits to targeted/defined referral sources.
  • Schedule follow-up calls and strategic in-person meetings for Branch Partner and yourself.
  • Build, grow, and manage by regularly calling on:
  • Realtors (post-close follow-up and gift delivery ask for the next deal).
  • Home builders (push new construction/purchase loan for preferred lender opportunities).
  • Financial professionals.
  • Loan Officers at other lenders who refer us business, including community banks.
  • Other miscellaneous referral sources, e.g., estate and divorce attorneys, HR professionals, etc.
  • Post-close Client/Referral Partner Follow-up Management
  • Clients (post-close gift delivery; loyalty card, etc.) and Zillow-review capture on every closing.
  • "Surefire" client database management, building, and administration; keep it constantly growing, sharp, and-up-to date with current client and referral partner information.
  • Make past client check-in calls.
  • Quarterly client database mailer management.
  • Procure leads from our past-client base for repeat business, as well as from their friends and family referrals.
  • Follow-up with referral partners to assess the level of service, needs are being met and continued ways to partner together.
  • Special Event / Project Planning and Coordination
  • Quarterly referral partner appreciation dinner planning / inviting / facilitation.
  • Monthly happy hour planning / inviting / facilitation.
  • Annual open house (summer cookout, etc.) planning / inviting / facilitation.
  • Other events (e.g., educational, etc.)
  • Public Relations / Marketing
  • Write press releases, help Branch Partner manage advertising budget, charity programs, social media sites, attend industry promotional and tradeshow events, etc.
  • Administrate, market, and promote the special events.
  • Join and participate in business networking groups, BNI, PRO, Chamber of Commerce, Civic Groups, etc. to promote the Branch's business.
  • Follow up with ALCOVA Corporate for their offered incentives (VA award, charitable donation match, etc.).
  • Manage all marketing projects with Branch Partner (Realtor flyers, etc.).
  • Stay up to date on current events, industry news and changes, industry events, and marketing opportunities to grow the Branch’s brand and reach.
  • Social media post-management (Facebook page).
  • Video editing, YouTube uploading, and database blast distribution.
  • Possibly weekly one-minute video production with Branch Partner.
  • Seek marketing opportunities with referral partners.


  • Must be bilingual; fluently able to speak in both the Spanish and English languages.
  • Minimum of 2 years job relative job experience.
  • High school diploma, or equivalent education and experience; college degree preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) in Spanish and English.
  • Professionally presentable.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to effectively network and speak in social settings.
  • Strong time management skills -- self-starter who can manage various projects at the same time and on a schedule to meet deadlines with little direction and little oversight.
  • Tech-savvy – MS suite, Social Media, web-based programs, etc.
  • Knowledge or background in the real estate and/or mortgage business preferred.
  • Current membership in business networking groups, civic groups, social activities, etc. preferred.
  • Experience with community involvement is a plus.
