The Bulk Loader will load the product trays/baskets onto trays or basket dollies for subsequent loading onto the transports that will bring product to the depots for individual route distribution.
Trays/baskets are off-loaded at a typical rate of roughly 15 per minute or 900 per hour. The Bulk Loader will place trays or baskets as high as 7’6” to the top shelf or 6’10” depending on transport rack design, or up to 20 baskets high (buns) or 16 baskets high (bread) on the basket dollies.
You may be required to often make a shorter worker climb up on either a portable step stool or the rack itself to facilitate tray/basket loading at the rack's/dolly’s upper levels.
The Loader’s job represents a blend of internally paced (loading the trays according to order requirements) and externally paced (ensuring the loading process is sufficiently rapid to prevent the conveyor system from backing up with product baskets/trays).
You will take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system. You will be responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
You will also be responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits.
