What does our Billing Clerk do?

Our Billing Clerk is an integral member of our legal team who is responsible for creating retainer agreements, payment authorization forms, scheduling client payments, processing client payments, recording client expenses, creating and issuing client bills, reviewing client Trust Account balances, ensuring clients replenish their Trust Accounts timely, and managing and Accounts Receivables.

What are some characteristics our Billing Clerk must possess?

Our Billing Clerk must possess a positive attitude, exceptional communication skills, and be able to listen with an understanding ear.

Our Billing Clerk must be comfortable using technology, accustomed to high standards, able to follow procedures, and able to adhere to well-defined policies. Our Billing Clerk must also be a responsible and dependable self-starter who is able to negotiate, critically think, and problem solve.

Many clients come to us for help at some of the worst times in their lives. Sometimes clients don’t always interact with us when they’re at their best. It is not personal. If you can not be empathetic and understanding of this and still treat clients with respect and professionalism, this isn’t the job for you.

Our Billing Clerk must be detail-oriented and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right the first time. Getting the job done right the first time for clients is very important to us and we need everyone to work with this goal in mind. If this seems too much to ask of you, this isn’t the job for you.

We expect every team member to give us 100% when you are at work. If you are lazy, won’t show up to work on time, can’t stay off your phone, like to take an excessive number of breaks during the work-day, this isn’t the job for you.

You must be a team player. You will be working with other team members to deliver an outstanding experience for clients. You must respect, appreciate, and understand how we work together internally has a direct impact on how we are perceived externally. If you prefer to work independently, this isn’t the job for you.
