Automotive "A" Level Technician

Automotive Service Technician position available at A&A The Shop, Anchorage's Independent Subaru/Toyota specialists. Knowledge in Subaru/Toyota diagnostic and repair is a plus. Must have own tools and have at least 4 years of experience. ASE certifications are recommended. Pay depends on experience and certifications.

• Identify and address mechanical problems and malfunction codes found in the vehicle's electrical system, mechanical systems, and electronic systems
• Perform system inspections, test drives, and diagnostic tests to determine necessary repair work
• Work with auto mechanic team members to determine vehicle problems and solutions
• Preparing estimates, timelines, and other necessary documents for auto repairs
• Complete preventive maintenance work on vehicles, including oil changes, air conditioning service, filling fluids, and replacing brake pads, spark plugs, and batteries

A qualified person for this Automotive Service Technician position must have a proactive team-building attitude and have good computer and typing skills.

• Preferred education is an associate’s degree from a technical school or relevant automotive program and/or ASE certification
• Experience and manual dexterity using hand tools and other equipment is needed
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Must be an effective communicator who maintains a solid work ethic
• A valid driver’s license is necessary

Training Requirements:

• Must have basic tools
• Must have a current driver's license and a clean driving record
• Must be able to pass a drug test & Background search
