Love helping families find a resolution?
Know the difference between post separation support and alimony?
Like to spot issues and problem solve?
Do you want to work really hard making a difference practicing family law, but not burnout working 80 hour weeks and weekends?
If the answer to these questions is “Hell, yes!” and if you are a licensed attorney with 2-5 years experience, we may have the ideal position for you.
We are Apple Payne Law, PLLC, and we put family first!
Our Kernersville/Forsyth based firm is looking for that special someone to handle cases in Forsyth County with occasional but rare cases in surrounding counties when needed. Someone who can work with our existing amazing team of paralegals, intake and attorneys to make a difference in kids lives. That’s the gig. Talking to clients, their families and the people who love them to help figure out how our firm can help navigate the complex family law processes and help them reach a resolution that works best for them - not just fighting to fight, at all costs.
You don’t have to do trust accounting or manage social media; run your own practice or supervise employees. We have team members who handle all of that.
And you don’t have to worry about collecting payments or tracking down money from anyone. We have team members dedicated to that. Abusive clients? We do not allow that either. We understand clients are going through a tough time, and strive to be empathetic caring to help them. However, clients who take that out on our staff - attorneys or support staff, will be encouraged to hire other counsel - life is too short for clients who won’t accept or follow our advice and recommendations.
This is a full time, salaried position with 50% health care premiums covered on a BCBSNC Gold level plan (and plans to cover 100% in the next year or so), 401k, 2 weeks flexible vacation (and 2 additional paid weeks off at Christmas, so you can be with your family and recharge!) We also close for major holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, etc. and we offer 10 days PTO for sickness. Additionally, attorneys are encouraged and allowed to work from home as needed - as long as the work is getting done, we are flexible!
As our Associate Family Law Attorney, you would work hand-in-hand with our intake team and Senior Family Law Attorney to do consultations, handle cases and represent clients from open to close.
Work-Life balance isn’t a saying at APL - it’s what we do. Do you have to get your work done? Absolutely! Do you have to work 80 hours a week every single week? Hell NO! Our Core Values are:
1) Family First! We will always make decisions that are best for our families - our client’s families, our home family and our work family.
2) Honesty and Integrity: We don’t take positions for clients that are dishonest, “win-at-all-costs” mentality; we fight for our clients, but within ethical bounds and do not tolerate abusive clients.
3) Lifelong Learners and Innovators: We try new things, and are always continuing to improve.
Every team member has personal development goals that are reviewed quarterly and annually to ensure that personal and professional growth is consistent with the employee’s and firm’s short and long-term goals!
Apple Payne Law, PLLC is a firm on a mission to have work-life balance and professionalism in a field where it's all too common to face open hostility and fighting over things that, in the long run... just don't matter. We fight hard for our clients, but we also balance expectations with reality; take time to be with our own families, and find a real work-life balance that allows us to each bring our best to work each and every day while not working so hard we look back one day and realize we worked so hard we missed the entire trip. Can you make more money working for the big guys? Sure. Can you make great money while also being able to go on a work-free vacation with your spouse and kids? YES!
