Reynolds Defense Firm

Reynolds Defense Firm is hiring an attorney to join us in representing good people facing DUI charges.

This position will likely be based in our Portland office, though we are willing to create a hybrid work model with the right attorney located near Salem, Albany, McMinnville, Corvallis, or Vancouver, Washington.

Why work at Reynolds Defense Firm?

  • You believe that being your best self includes helping others, and you’d love to work at a place that holds that same belief as the center of their firm culture
  • You have the opportunity to become an expert in Oregon’s DUI laws, administrative processes, and our local courthouses.
  • You will focus on what you are great at – the law and helping our clients through their cases. We do not ask our attorneys to handle client finances, marketing, or all the other business functions required for a successful law firm (we have other great people who do those things)
  • You get to work with a solid team of authentic and caring attorneys and staff who believe in what we do. You also get to work with a firm that takes fantastic care of our clients and our employees, and this shows in our results - Reynolds Defense Firm is recognized by the Portland Business Journal as one of Oregon’s fastest-growing businesses and one of Oregon’s healthiest employers

Annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000, plus bonus opportunities, depending upon experience and fit. Compensation also includes full medical and dental insurance, 401(k) with employer contribution after a year, generous holiday and paid time off policies, employee wellness programs, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a caseload of 25-35 clients who face DUI and related criminal charges
  • Determine case strategies and solutions to serve clients' needs after analysis
  • Litigate administrative hearings to contest the suspension of driving privileges
  • Negotiate with prosecutors to achieve the best possible sentences
  • Research, draft and argue motions to the court as needed, including motions to suppress, contested diversion entry, and speedy trial
  • Conduct jury and court trials

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Oregon
  • At least five years of criminal law experience as a prosecutor, defense attorney and/or in a judicial capacity
  • Washington State criminal law experience, and/or being fluent in Spanish, are pluses, but not required

If you don't have five years of relevant experience, but you do meet all our other qualifications and Reynolds Defense Firm's work resonates with you, please apply - we'd love to get to know you, and we do have some ability to mold this role to fit the 'right' person.

Compensation
$80,000 - $120,000
