Business Advisory Attorney
We currently seek to hire a Business Advisory Attorney. This is a cornerstone role for this firm. The job can be performed remotely, or we do have office space in Pittsburgh at Alloy 26. The role requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast, but carefully thought-out results. Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end are necessary.

The job centers around being creative in terms of ideating and solutions finding, and also analyzing and improving current processes. A high level of expertise is expected and the ability to spot and correct errors are important. Details matter!

The successful candidate believes everything needs to be done correctly and quickly, while always focusing on accomplishing the goal and insisting on the highest quality work. The broad scope of the job demands a factual, direct, and authoritative style of communication. Decision-making, though swift, is very calculated and singular, with little need for reliance on consensus or collaborating opinions. We really do want you to be in charge.

Education and/or Experience:

  • JD
  • Admitted to practice in PA
  • At least 3 years of law firm experience preferred, but not required

  • Effectively communicate with clients, other counsel
  • Lead, mentor, and provide coaching through respectful interactions with other associates and staff
  • Provide input and feedback to maintain an excellent client experience
  • Accurately track time spent on each client case
  • Manage workflow, complete tasks daily, ensure deadlines are met, files are organized and up-to-date, and work is completed correctly
  • Supervise the work of legal assistants and paralegals assigned to assist with clients/matters
  • Meet with prospects and potential new clients (as needed and calendared) for the purpose of discussing their legal issues, helping them understand how the firm can help them, obtaining a signed engagement agreement, and onboarding the matter
  • Conduct unflappable connections with internal team members as well as external clients and entities
  • Follow all Firm policies and procedures

We believe when you read this list of job characteristics, you be excited because what we’re looking for sounds exactly like what you’re looking for:

  • Working in a fast-paced environment while leading and controlling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Utilizing your analytical orientation rather than completely depending on social orientation
  • Being in a firm that values your same level of high standards and high-quality work
  • Like you, we believe in structure, organization, and efficiency
  • We embrace big picture, strategic thinkers like you who are well thought and analytical
  • We’re OK with calculated risk-taking
  • And we’re also OK with the blunt, candid, and to-the-point communication style
  • With the ability to work primarily singularly with little involvement from others, we won’t micromanage you
  • We’ll embrace you expressing your opinions and decisions
  • We love your orientation of preferring to do things yourself as opposed to risking others doing them incorrectly
  • Being a strong, direct, and fearless leader

About Rust Belt Business Law

Rust Belt Business Law was launched in 2010, and since then we have gained a great reputation in the community, with our clients, and with our referral sources. In fact, in 2020, we were ranked among the top 500 fastest-growing law firms in the country (#68 to be precise).

One of the reasons for that success is that our Founder brings a great vision to the team. We need an Operations Manager who can help implement that vision. The rest of our team enjoys working together and appreciates having strong leadership.

We help small businesses create jobs, pursue opportunities, and improve our economy.

We rebranded our firm earlier this year and launched with this video:
