The Assistant Manager runs the day-to-day restaurant operations, works on the line with the team, and provides leadership and business management. The Assistant Manager is also primarily responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities have been broken down into four categories: Standards, Reports, Team Members, and Business Management.

Standards

  • Become Barbecue University Pit Boss certified
  • Become ServSafe certified
  • Exceed guest expectations in-store and out
  • Create a warm environment
  • Know and understand all of Dickey’s Standards and ensure that they are followed
  • Honestly and accurately complete Core Ops Forms
  • Respond to negative surveys and negative experiences to win the guest back
  • Perform A+ caterings
  • Maintain Catering binders and catering board
  • Ensure that recipes are correctly followed
  • Ensure that meat and pantry preparation is performed consistently
  • Maintain a clean and organized store
  • Answer phone calls the Dickey’s way
  • Perform community marketing
  • Perform table touches
  • Ability and willingness to perform well in any position
  • Keep a professional appearance

Reports

  • Complete weekly manager reports
  • Complete MSR’s
  • Forecast monthly budget
  • Send nightly email reports
  • Make a daily deposit

Team Members

  • Schedule team members
  • Recruit and hire team members
  • Train team members to know their position responsibilities and Dickey’s Standards
  • Hold team members accountable to their position responsibilities and Dickey’s Standards
  • Perform random visits and audits to ensure that team is performing up to expectations
  • Hold shift meetings to train and motivate
  • Ensure that team members’ work is complete before they leave

Business Management

  • Ensure that tills, petty cash, and deposits are accurate
  • Perform inventory management
  • Place strategic orders
  • Maintain the labor % objective
  • Maintain COGs % objective
  • Maintain other objectives as directed
  • Attend management team meetings
  • Manage POS and back of house computer
  • Work closely and be transparent with Franchise Owner
  • Take ownership of responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Assistant Manager or similar position
  • Experience with recruiting and performance evaluation processes
  • Familiarity with financial and customer service principles
  • Good math skills with the ability to create and analyze reports, spreadsheets and sales statistics
  • Proficient user of MS Office (MS Excel in particular) and Google-based software/platforms
  • Leadership and organizational abilities
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Flexibility to work in shifts

Compensation
$19 - $24 hourly
