Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages and monitors activities of all employees in the Front Office, Facilities, and Housekeeping departments, making sure they adhere to the standards of excellence and to the guidelines set in the employee handbook, hotel policies and procedures.Utilizes coaching, training and correcting where needed.
Assist the General Manager in day-to-day operations of the hotel. Oversee the property in the absence of the General Manager.
Acts as Manager on Duty for the hotel, using problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve complaints, disturbances, special requests, social media reviews and any other issues that may arise. Cover shifts in all departments as scheduled by the General Manager.
Assigns duties as necessary to supervisors and observes performance to ensure adherence to franchise and hotel policies and established operating procedures.
Provides comprehensive training to staff and supervisors to foster an environment where employees are engaged, valued and successful, leading to and overall excellent guest experience.
Selects or assists in the selection of hotel staff and completes all new hire paper works.
Assists General Manager in managing operating expenses and purchasing for all operations departments.
Works closely with the all departments to improve guest services and foster cross departmental communication. Maintains a positive and professional approach with employees to ensure a high-quality service-oriented environment.Receives and resolves or assists the General Manager in resolving guest complaints and service recovery process.
Assures all social media and brand-based reviews are responded to promptly.
Holds morning huddles to keep staff informed of all activities in the hotel, reinforcing standards of excellence and promoting a team atmosphere and culture.
Works closely with all departments to ensure proper key controls and safety measures are maintained at all times.
Audits on par stock of all areas to make sure that all required hotel supplies have been ordered and will be stocked in advance of need.
Performs daily, weekly, and monthly property inspections inclusive of guest rooms and public spaces to maintain standards and monitor performance of departments set forth by property brand and management company.Ensures property, grounds, physical plant, and work areas maintained to standard.
Ensure hotel staff is provided with uniforms and name tags and upholds property grooming standards.
Must be available 24/7 to respond to any guest or employee emergencies.
All other duties as assigned by General Manager.

Qualifications

What candidate traits are needed to be successful in this role?

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and late nights.
  • Ability to work on your feet for an entire shift, and must be able to lift/push/reach for/carry 30+ pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to use a computer, familiar with MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English. Bilingual English/Spanish helpful.
  • Strong leadership and a professional image.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills to include problem-solving and complaint resolution.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Reliability and honesty.
  • Desire to contribute to a supportive and effective team.
  • Attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Ability to monitor staff activities and accomplishment of tasks.
  • Will be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years- experience in team management or supervisory experience.
  • Hotel level front office experience is preferred.


Compensation
$48,000 plus bonus potential and other benefits
