The Department Manager is responsible for supervising employees in their designated department. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.

• Direct and manage workloads to meet scheduled deadlines
• Develop a skilled workforce
• Coach, mentor, and develop staff and provide career development planning and opportunities
• Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for efficiency, quality, continuous improvement, and teamwork
• Provide effective performance feedback, employee recognition, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary
• Communicate regularly with other managers regarding schedules, quality performance, and efficiencies
• Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned

• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) is required for this role
• At least 1-2 years of experience in management is necessary
• Knowledge and understanding of management functions and production operations must be demonstrated
• The ability to lead and motivate department staff is essential
• Establishing positive relationships with team members and other department managers is a must
• A minimum attendance percentage of 98% must be met
• Outstanding organizational management skills are a must
• Competence in speaking and writing to convey information effectively is needed
• Must have 20/20 vision with corrective lenses and the ability to differentiate between red and green is required
