We're hiring a data-driven accountant for an integral position on our team. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining, preparing, and reviewing designated accounting functions and financial information within the property management accounting department, including reporting, internal control procedures, and systematic posting, reconciliation, and maintenance of general ledger activity. Candidates should be experienced problem-solvers, well-organized, detail-oriented, and time-efficient.


  • Support of military property management employees to facilitate proper accounting process and controls.
  • Create and maintain appropriate communication levels with lenders, banks, and site-level teams in order to effectively receive information that is directly related to the responsibilities of this position i.e., waterfall entry corrections and escrow fund transactions.
  • Responsible for maintaining good payment relationships with sub-contractors/suppliers and for resolving any issues/discrepancies that may arise.
  • Manage receipt of all military monthly reports with regard to deliverable due dates, change in process, and review report data integrity for issuance in the monthly financial package.
  • Perform all required reviews of financial information that will be provided to management and utilized for analysis and decision making
  • Reconcile all restricted cash accounts monthly, including bank reconciliations, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and post all journal entries receipt of funds and distribution of funds.
  • Distribute fees per-flow of funds, record assets, accruals, recurring entries, etc.
  • Perform system month close function on the 1st of each month, manage inter-company schedule maintenance for corporate entities, asset depreciation, and year-end audit binder review to assist in the issuance of annual financial statements.
  • Post vendor invoices on a daily basis.
  • Review all invoices for accuracy/correct coding/duplicate charges.
  • Resolve vendor disputes and system discrepancies.
  • Maintain clean and complete vendor files.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly MOS.
  • Assist with BAH process and review/maintenance of tenant receivable ledgers.
  • Assist with audit preparation and compliance with governmental and external audit guidelines.
  • Support the monthly close process and other special projects as assigned.
  • Review of budget versus actual revenue and expenses on a monthly basis and continually pursue accuracy in reporting of financial information.
  • Assist with the timely and accurate processing and reporting of the monthly MOS and quarterly financial binders as they relate to Property Management.
  • Provide support to other accountants as questions and projects are assigned.
  • Support and foster a team environment with the corporate accounting team on special projects to meet all department goals.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Must exhibit exemplary problem-solving, communication, and time management skills

  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience. Previous property management accounting is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, EPICOR, and other accounting-related software systems. Strong working knowledge of accounting software packages to ensure that the company is fully utilizing its investment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals of diverse backgrounds and at all organizational levels, including the ability to influence.
  • Ability to travel some.
  • Construction accounting experience preferred.
