We’re seeking an experienced Comptroller to oversee this high-performing team. The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant in our industry, preferably in a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this person will streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. The Controller will also produce thorough financial status reports for senior managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.

Physical Setting:

• Office (Knoxville, TN)

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, and bank deposits in the general ledger
• Establish (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a biweekly, monthly, and annual basis
• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize the protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
• Update and reconcile financial records such as invoices, disbursements, receipts, credit card transactions, third-party payments, and expense vouchers into accounting software
• Aid the accounting department by completing clerical duties and providing general clerical support
• Make sure accounts payable and accounts receivable are processed efficiently
• Monitor monetary resources through internal auditing

• High school or equivalent (Required)
• Accounting: 5 years (Required)
• QuickBooks: 2 years (Required)
• Bookkeeping: 5 years (Required)
• The ability to organize and multi-task is crucial
• 10-key data entry and computer experience, especially Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks are needed
• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required; some college is desired
• Previous accounting experience is needed; experience as a bookkeeper, loan clerk, staff accountant, or human resources is preferred
• Communication skills (both written and verbal) and strong attention to detail are needed
